Visibility/Location: It's pretty easy to find. The building itself has a sign on it and part of washington street is blocked off. Parking will probably be your only problem.

Wait Entertainment: There is a lady selling glow sticks, and TV's showing the inside of the house where a car horn goes off and scares people. For a small donation you can scare people with the horn.

Length of Event: 20-25 minutes

Actor Performance: Excellent, everyone stayed in character. The executioner is a great character, slightly cartoony, but oddly scary. I did run into two workers walking around the house, and they said hi, but everyone else was in character and did not break it.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: In the maze we could hear the group in front of us, but they did a good job of keeping us from running into anyone. The pace seemed to get more frantic at some points, and made you want to walk faster or slower.

Appropriate Ages: 14+

Props / Special FX: A mix of store-bought and home-made. Lots of interesting effects, and the blood coming from the sink in the messy apartement scene was excellent. The Tv's in the introduction were awesome, and the elevator was the first one I had been on in a haunted house that felt like it was actually riding on one, and the scene changed when the doors open. The air in the walls was odd, but worked incredibly well.

Costumes / Make-up: A lot of store-bought masks, but all well done. The actors looked their parts well though.

Summary: Well worth the $8. They could easily have charged more and I would have still felt like I got my moneys worth. The flow through the house from silent and dark, to a lot of stimulation was excellent. I would gladly go again in a heartbeat. Very confusing layout, and you have no idea where you are in the building. The ending comes without notice and is great at making you run in terror from the chainsaw guy, made my pregnant wife run incredibly fast even.

Visibility/Location: Good, easy to find and parking was easy.

Wait Entertainment: Good, there were live cameras and tv's with trivia. Could have used more monsters to walk around and scare.

Length of Event: 20-25 min- better than average

Actor Performance: Very realistic, the actors were very creepy and used a lot of unspoken gestures.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Very fast and well organized.

Appropriate Ages: 13 and up.

Props / Special FX: Good, well planned out and creative.

Costumes / Make-up: Very realistic and well done.

Summary: This haunted house used the space very well. There was alot of detail in each room, which always had a new scare. The actors seemed to enjoy working the house and put alot into making sure they scared the victims.

Visibility/Location: I have been to clinton before, but had no idea where exactly the haunt was. I saw NO signs and it was a bit hard to find.

Wait Entertainment: We waited only about 5 minutes. It was Sprinkling out so i think that kept the line short. They dont have indoor or covered waiting, not a big deal.

Length of Event: About 5-10 minutes

Actor Performance: Most were very good. The girl in the electric chair, Amazing. There were 3 actors that thought that we were staff or something and didnt even try to scare us, but everyone else made up for that.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: there was no guide and we caught up to the group in frount of us a couple of times. the group of 2 behind us cauht up me our group of 2 and we just formed a group of 4. This was no big deal but they really should spred the groups out more.

Appropriate Ages: i am not the person to ask this to. I think that the parents of children know what their kids can handle. but i would guess 6 and up would be a good guess.

Props / Special FX: There were a few rooms that were well decorated with props, the kitchen was good with the sink with running blood and the "stove trauma" was nice. I also was impressed with the elevator. Not alot of animatronics, but i like that. Actors are beter then machines anyday.

Costumes / Make-up: The makeup was average do it yourself stuff and there were a few masks too.

Summary: This haunt is a good one. It kinda feels like a Huge garage haunt or Home haunt. I was very intertained at this Haunt. Being a Haunt owner myself i dont get scared, but i was surprised that they made me jump a couple times they are very good at misdirection. I will definetly go back next year. and would recomend this to others.

Visibility/Location: This is the 3rd time we've been to Clinton HH, so we knew how to find it.

Wait Entertainment: Good job overall.. they had a few gouls working the line and their staff was very friendly towards our group.

Length of Event: Approx. 10-12 min.

Actor Performance: They had a comb. of small teen actors and adults, but overall they did a great job.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Very good! We never ran into another group.

Appropriate Ages: 8+

Props / Special FX: Very Nice!! We've always been impressed by the new things Clinton adds every year to make their haunt different from the previous year! The first room was a great way to set the tone for a great experience overall!

Costumes / Make-up: Mostly masked charactars, but a few good make-up ones!

Summary: We've been to this Haunt in 2 previous years, and have never been disappointed! There is a lot of energy in the effort put forth by the actors in this place, and it really makes a difference! Well worth the money, and we will keep coming back!

Visibility/Location: been there before. knew exactly where it was at.

Wait Entertainment: there really wasnt any wait entertainment except for the chainsaw guys sneaking up on the crowd every once in awhile. there were t.v.s outside where you could watch what was going on inside

Length of Event: 15-20 mins

Actor Performance: awesome. out of all the haunted houses we go to, clinton is always the most creative with there scares. the actors are always on

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: we ran into another group at the very end waiting to get into the hell-avator

Appropriate Ages: 12 and up

Props / Special FX: they really seemed to have alot more animated props this year than before. the sounds and strobe lights in the electric chair was unbelievable

Costumes / Make-up: most of the actors inside the house had awesome face paintings. even the houses staff members had there faces painted. the skeletons were very detailed. we even saw a joker outside

Summary: clintons terror on washington street seems to grow creatively every year. there sets become more detailed and scary every time we go. lighting is always perfect and there scares are always right on. all of the performers costumes and makeup really fit in with the themes of there rooms. the t.v.s in the begining where the coolest entrance i have ever seen. u go in and out of this house with a bang.. couldnt expect anything more. curious to see how they can top there house next year. they always seem to do it.

Visibility/Location: If you have never been there might be a little hard to find. Just stay on Washington Street and you will run into it eventually.

Wait Entertainment: There was a tv screen that you could watch people get scared by a car horn and lights. A nice touch was that you could press the button to scare them yourself for a monetary donation to a charity. The ending is there at the wait line so you could see "leatherface" chase the patrons out of the house. There was also a witch selling glow necklaces; she had an irish accent, and was a little annoying selling her wares.

Length of Event: 15 minutes.

Actor Performance: Good Job! Out of the 3 houses we visited this night Clinton was the most on cue for scares. All characters seemed to stay in character and there was little talking to be heard. I do not get scared in the houses often but a big monster guy got all 5 of us. Pretty intimidating!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Did not run into any other groups.

Appropriate Ages: 10 +

Props / Special FX: Nice scene designs. The elevator was a nice touch.

Costumes / Make-up: Mostly half and half. My only comment on masks was don't have 2 Leatheface masks in the same room. They were like the twins of the house.

Summary: Overall Clinton always does a great house every year. The scenes and scares were great to see and the scares were on the mark.. I always love going to clinton because their ending is great. Great space for patrons to run out screaming. Great job Clinton.

Visibility/Location: I've been there before, so it wasn't all that hard to find. There were signs, but the screaming people and chainsaws really tipped me off.

Wait Entertainment: The first time I went, there was a masked figure in a jumpsuit terrifying some girls in line. The second time around, there wasn't really any, and there wasn't a need, since we got in pretty fast.

Length of Event: Around 10 or 15 minutes.

Actor Performance: They did a spectactular job, in my opinion, especially the chainsaw guys at the end.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We ran into another group a few times, but that was only because they got lost in the dark maze at the beginning.

Appropriate Ages: Depends on how easily scared the child gets, but I would say ten and up.

Props / Special FX: I really liked the strobe light hallway. Plus, the hallway with the airjets scared me both times, even though I was expecting it the second time.

Costumes / Make-up: They did great here, especially with the person covered with leaves in the funeral parlor scene. I really thought it was a bush at first.

Summary: All I can personally say is wow. The first time I went, it was okay. The second time I visited they changed some things around, like the oven in the kitchen scene did something that made even me scream. And the second time I went, one of the chainsaw men separated me from the rest of the group and chased only me out of the house.
I had a great time both times I went down. I'm not one to scare that easily, but the Clinton crew got me good. Definitely worth the sixteen dollars for two trips. I am definitely going down next year, it was that good. In my opinion.

Visibility/Location: Just take a trip on Washington street. Town is small enough, it easy to find.

Wait Entertainment: The monitors were fun watching the scare inside. Ugh, the Irish purple witch.

Length of Event: 12 minutes

Actor Performance: Clinton does a nice job. Kudos to the boys in the crypt. They flew out at the same time..got all of us! Well done!!!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: 2 girls caught up to us.

Appropriate Ages: 8+

Props / Special FX: Clinton always does a god job with the attention to detail. I liked the changing monitors for the rules as well as the elevator.

Costumes / Make-up: Combination masks and make up. Maybe would go with a little more wicked face on elevator girl. Seemed kinda Disney.

Summary: Always enjoy this house. Consistent every year, nothing amazing, nothing weak. Give the guys in the crypt room and extra pat on the back. See you next year.

Visibility/Location: It's not that hard to find, but could be confusing if it was after dark and you weren't familiar. Since Clinton is such a small town if you were lost, you could ask just about anyone for directions and they would get you there easily, though.

Wait Entertainment: There were two guys dressed up in jump suits and masks walking around and going through the lines. They caught me off guard and my first scared was outside waiting in line!

Length of Event: about 15-20 minutes.

Actor Performance: Everyone stayed in character and the house looked great

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We didn't run into any other groups. The spacing was perfect.

Appropriate Ages: depends on maturity of child but I would say 10/11+

Props / Special FX: I loved the blood in the sink. It looked realistic! The rules part from the TVs was VERY cool. It was a great way to start off the house. The elevator was also a very nice touch.

Costumes / Make-up: I am always impressed with the costumes and make up. Even though most are store bought the Terror on Washington crew does a great job making each character look authentic.

Summary: I am a Clinton resident and have worked in Terror on Washington street before. Even after being behind the scenes before I was still scared. The Terror Staff does a great job making the house look new every year and always has created an exciting and new atmosphere

Visibility/Location: If you can find Washington St, just follow it til you get to the barricades and you have arrived!

Wait Entertainment: Not so much. The tv's where you could watch others being scared is always a fun thing. The purple hatted witchy woman hawking her wares was a bit preachy and annoying. I am all for free enterprise, but 4x through the line in under 15 mins trying to get us to buy glow stick things is a bit much.

Length of Event: I wish it were longer, but only because I enjoy Clinton.

Actor Performance: Not too shabby. All stayed in character and were dressed appropriately.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Good, good. Our group grew no larger throughout the trip through the house. Unless you count the leatherfaces who ran out with/after us!

Appropriate Ages: Small children NO-NO.

Props / Special FX: All good. They always are.

Costumes / Make-up: All good!

Summary: I always enjoy going to Clinton. It wasn't very busy when we were there and even though that is great for the wait time, I always enjoy the crowds and the anticipation. I'd definitely go back to this house if I had time. They are worth it and I am close enough.

Visibility/Location: Clintons Terror on Washington Street was easy to find once you found Washington Street. I didnt see any signs on the way into town but the roads blocked off and scary blowups in the middle of the street were very visible.

Wait Entertainment: While waiting outside of the haunted house there were chainsaw welding maniacs and many creatures and ghouls outside acting with the crowd. My person favorite was a couple of t.v.s that allowed you to watch others in the house and actually scare them by remote control from outside.

Length of Event: 15 minutes of thrill

Actor Performance: All actors inside of the house seemed to be right on que. Perfect timing.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Our group ran into another group inside the attraction. You were able to purchase glow in the dark necklaces outside that really helped you navigate your way threw a dark maze.

Props / Special FX: My favorite Special Effect in Terror on Washington Street was a very scary elevator that takes you to another floor and has a huge suprise at the end of the ride. Dont want to ruin it for everyone. There were also many foggy settings and animated props inside of this attraction. I really enjoyed a kitchen scene with refridgerator, cabinets, bloody water running into the sink, and a stove that flys open with a prop lunging out at you.

Costumes / Make-up: All actors inside of the house really fit into there settings. While walking threw a tomb in egypt, there were many mummys flying out from secret panels in the walls.

Summary: Terror on Washington Street is having another great year. They always keep me and my family coming back. I enjoy seeing all of the new settings and animations that they have every year. They really seemed to step up there scares from the previous years I have gone. All of there monsters inside the house really seemed alot more matured than previous years. I dont know if its only me, but when someone twice as tall as me jumps out from a secret passage its alot more intimidating than a elementary school sized monster. Another great year for Washington Street. Cant wait for the next.

Visibility/Location: Location is the same every year, can be hard to find if it's your first trip here. Needs more signs!

Wait Entertainment: Tv displays reactions from people inside the event. Concessions available.

Length of Event: 15 minutes

Actor Performance: Actors all did a great job.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: No bottle up this year and everything went off ok.

Appropriate Ages: 8+. Some high impact scares here so this might not work for small kids.

Props / Special FX: Lots of good props with little automation effects here and there, I would like to see more with an event of this size and crowd draw.

Costumes / Make-up: Costumes are all good and the mix of masks and make-up was good.

Summary: I try to attend this attraction every year, it seems to keep the same format every year, but it works here. This years elevator was enjoyable with a great conculsion. Overall, this is one great haunted attraction which could use some more punch, but we all enjoyed it and will return next year. The "Speed Pass" is the best way to get through this attraction, the normal line tonight was almost 2 hours, we used the "pass" and was moving on within 15 minutes.

Length of Event: 15-25 min.

Actor Performance: The actors were very in character and jumped out right on time and were very scary

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: I went through with no problems

Appropriate Ages: 12 and up

Props / Special FX: I enjoyed the scarecrow, the oven where something looked like it flying out, and i like the long hallway where it seemed like i was getting shot at.

Costumes / Make-up: The costumes and maked where set up just right for the room.

Summary: Overall well worth the money. I have been going for a number of years and it seems that every year it just keeps getting better and better i cant wait to go back next year becuase this year was one of the best. I think i might go back next week just to enjoy it some more.

Visibility/Location: Followed the directions that were given on the house's website and found it very easy.

Wait Entertainment: They did not have any characters going through the line. However, I did find the trivia on one of the television's interesting. Also, the live action camera they were showing from one of the rooms entertaining.

Length of Event: 10-15 minutes depending on how long it takes to get through the black maze.

Actor Performance: Some of the actors did a better job with the surprise/scare factor than others. There were some characters that I could see as I entered the room peeking out form his/her hiding place. Also, after the initial scare, they did help in pointing us in the right direction.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Pretty good. . . we did meet another group in the black maze at the start of the attraction.

Appropriate Ages: Not for little kids. I would say 10 and up at least.

Props / Special FX: The car horn and car light room made me jump even though I knew it was in there. Some more strobe lights especially in the clown room.

Costumes / Make-up: Store bought costumes/masks along with make-up.

Summary: A person needs to get there early. We got there shortly after opening (7p.m.) and were in line for an hour and a half. It was well worth the wait and the price. It may have been a little underpriced. I also thought that as the busier it got the person at the entry point could have done better alternating those who purchased General Admission passes with those who bought the R.I.P (Rush-In Pass).

Length of Event: 12 minutes

Actor Performance: alright, some people were in you face while others were doing their own thing. i actually heard some of the actors talk about wanting to go home tho once we had passed them.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: horrible. kept running into the group in front of us, and the group behind us did the same thing to us. no tour guide, may have been better with one

Appropriate Ages: 5+

Props / Special FX: some rooms were alright, the asylum room was the best

Costumes / Make-up: the costumes fit the theme of each room and the makeup wasnt half bad

Summary: fun for a little town haunted house. the long wait in line was not worth it in my opinion. the patron flow also ruined a lot of the scares and thrills that may have happened otherwise.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Space out the groups a little more. We kept running into the group in front of us and they lost a couple of scares cause the actors were coming out of hiding as we were coming around a corner.

Props / Special FX: Fog machine was very cool. And I liked the smell it gave.

Summary: I am an avid haunted house goer, and live an hour away in Springfield and make it a point to travel to Clinton every year. I like how each year is different. I expecially liked how they had the maze at the beginning this year. Keep up the great work and I will be back next year!!!!

Visibility/Location: Located in the same place every year, old building downtown. Location works here. Should have marker sign on major road outside Clinton.

Wait Entertainment: Leatherface moving around crowd with chainsaw, simple but it works.

Length of Event: 15 minutes average.

Actor Performance: Actors do a good job here, howver numbers are getting weaker every year. They needed twice the work force here.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Traffic flow is not guided here and people bottle up throughout the attraction. We had six times when we had to wait-out the slow moving traffic jams. Too bad because it takes away from the attraction - all triggered effects we off.

Appropriate Ages: 7+

Props / Special FX: Lots of props to keep you looking, every room was well done. No problems with the room looks, the detail was great. No actual special effects to speak of, scarecrow was manual triggered and off timed badly, the globe witch with rear mirror effect was weak, and the big closer chainsaw man was out to lunch.

Costumes / Make-up: No problem with make-up and the costumes, everything worked seamless here.

Summary: This attraction I look forward to every year and expect high results, however this year just didn't make it. The door man bragged about being ranked 2nd in the state, however this isn't close to a state rated top 10. Characters throughout the house did a good job, but the timing was off this year and the numbers were weak. Lots of attractions were not manned this year, so the flow of the haunted house was weak and lacking. The patron flow got bottled up several times which caused even more timing problems throughout the house. With this being one of my favorite attractions it was sad to see this type of performance this year. No high rating this year!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Only ran into two people once in the beginning because they were lost.

Appropriate Ages: Do Not Bring anyone under the age of 8.

Props / Special FX: The library stood out the most, but there was no scares in there.

Summary: I have been to this house several times and always come back. The chainsaw at the end was the best for two people in our group. I did scream with a dropping wall. I would recommend not having children work the house, they just are not scary at 4'11. I also know that volunteers are hard to come by. This was a decent scare but I dont recommend combining it with Decatur.

Visibility/Location: Easy to find on Washington Street in Clinton. This one has been on our list of haunts for the last five years so not hard for us to find at all.

Wait Entertainment: Did not see any; but we were there early in the night. Had a gift shop and treats to buy.

Length of Event: 10 minutes.

Actor Performance: Good; but had a lot of children- alot of "rraahhh" coming from behind masks.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Flow was pretty good. Did not see any other group.

Appropriate Ages: 6 +

Props / Special FX: This house does a nice job with props. Special FX were good also with lights and fog and causing patrons to "get lost" a little in the house.

Costumes / Make-up: Mostly mask in this house.

Summary: Overall Clinton usually does a good job. Last half of the house was great. Always enjoy seeing what they have done new each year. Only item that I would add is of course more adult scares but being a retired haunt person myself I understand how hard it is to find willing aduts to help.

Summary: I enjoyed the House this year a bit more than last year, Leatherface was brutal this year, the roaring chainsaw made you not want to enter the room, and he got you out of the house..great finish!!

Visibility/Location: Once you find Washington St. there are a couple signs and a big inflated haunted horse and buggy.

Wait Entertainment: none

Length of Event: Depends on how long you take to travel through a dark maze . . . a reasonable answer would be about 20 minutes for maze and haunt.

Actor Performance: Young actors . . . however a good creepy dialogue in each room that had an actors. I definitely was never ignored!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: There wasn't a line when I went in so it was smooth sailing all the way. When I've visited this attraction before and sometimes you have do the count to five deal or the actors try to hold you back for for less bumpage.

Appropriate Ages: 10 and up

Summary: Terror on Washington St. changed the layout this year! What a refreshing change! The dark maze is a tad narrow in parts and I feel a little bad for the actors I felt right into but it's understandable with the building space. I came on a slow day and alone (yeah I'm greedy. I want all the scares) but I enjoyed the fact that the actors were so verbal with me. I think this haunt could really shoot to number one by making use of costumes and space. Camouflage the actors in the small or weirdly lit rooms so they come out from the surroundings for a more claustrophobic scare effect. It's hard for actors to get their scare on when they hide around corners and behind black doors in such a tight haunt. Very enjoyable and I will be back for more and hopeful new scares!

Visibility/Location: I have been going to this haunt for the last 5 years so I knew where it was.Even though it is right in the middle of town, you get a secluded feeling about the place.

Wait Entertainment: They had some monitors set up outside with veiws from inside playing on them -realtime.Real cool. Had some monsters roaming around outside working the crowd. They would pop up out of nowhere and did a good job of entertaining I thought.

Length of Event: 15 - 20 min. They spaced the groups pretty good.

Actor Performance: Overall I thought they did a real good job. Most were excellant, some needed work/instruction but over all, really good.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Like I mentioned before they spaced the groups pretty good, but when they let you go through alone,no guide, at your own pace,it is bound to happen that you run into the group ahead of you. That said, I only caught up with the next group once, waited like I was told and never saw them again.

Appropriate Ages: 9-10 & up

Props / Special FX: They have had some very good sets in the past but this year every room seemed to have extra effort put into it and it really showed. The lighting, music, decorating was taken to the next level.I have never been disapointed at this house.

Costumes / Make-up: The costume selection was matched great for whatever room the actors were in accept one, who for some reason was in street clothes and only a mask. The make-up was top notch. The phantom who gave the rules in the first room was great and even the ticket sellers to the security team whom roam around the house-inside and out- were made up like pro's.

Summary: Every year this house just rocks.Haveing helped with other houses in a differant state, I know how much work goes into one of these things and these guys must spend many, many hours thinking up new ways to scare and then weeks and weeks of work to put it all together.I have never ever been disapointed here and WILL go back every year they have one because all the hard work comes through, every time.100% worth the drive to see and the ticket price of $7.50 is a steal. You gotta see one ....

Visibility/Location: I thought it was fairly easy to find as I have been to Clinton a number of times. Online directions are a definite help.

Wait Entertainment: It was ok. There were some concessions and outside monitors showing what was going on in couple of locations inside.

Length of Event: about 20 minutes I would guess.

Actor Performance: I thought it was excellent throughout. Everyone did a great job of staying in character. I have read some of the previous reviews of this haunt and have to say there must have been a great improvement overall in the last couple of weeks. This place is great!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: pretty good. We caught up with the group in front of us briefly after coming through the maze. Wasnt a big deal.

Appropriate Ages: I would say 10+...it was pretty scary for some of the younger folks going through.

Props / Special FX: The attention to detail throughout this haunt was just outstanding! Great spooks throughout the entire house. There was obviously a lot of time and effort put into this haunt! Secret passageways, down on hands and knees to get through one space, many spooky twists and turns!

Costumes / Make-up: All very good. A nice combo of makeup and really good masks. That "Phantom of the Opera" giving instructions at the begining was a neat touch!

Summary: This haunt is worth every cent of the price of admission. If you have to travel an hour or more to get there, you will not be disappointed! Best I have seen in a couple of years!

Visibility/Location: Was a little hard to find at first just because we weren't familiar with Clinton, online directions helped. When you see the barricades you know you're there. Also, you can park anywhere around there. They don't have a parking lot, but there's one next door and street parking available as well.

Wait Entertainment: Not much. They had some monitors where you could watch people in the house. The music they played while waiting was nice.

Length of Event: I think about 15 minutes.

Actor Performance: It was good. There were a few times when we were walking into a scene the actors were talking to each other. Most of the actors were great.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: It was good. The man in the beginning telling you the rules helps set the pace so you don't run into groups. We never ran into a group which was nice.

Appropriate Ages: 10+

Props / Special FX: They really spent a lot of time on this house. It looks great. There's a lot more to it than most houses. Every detail was thought through and it shows.

Costumes / Make-up: They were good. mostly face paint, but still nicely done.

Summary: This is the best house I've been to so far this year. I highly recommend it. It's so much fun and because you don't have a guide walking you through it adds to the suspense. I think this house should finish in the top 3 of the state this year! It's well worth the drive and reasonably priced compared to other houses in the area.

Wait Entertainment: there was a monitor that showed from an area inside the house and when ever a person walked by they would honk a car horn i laughed so hard when they scared them

Length of Event: it took me about 30 min. because i wasnt running

Actor Performance: it was great. they all stayed in character except four when they had to escorte a little girl out but i didnt mind

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: it was great also everytime we started to catch up an acot will stop us

Appropriate Ages: id say 12+

Props / Special FX: they were asome to i liked the scare crow and the zombies they had a cool cemetry and this one was hiding in the corner and you couldnt see them and they popped out once u got close i fell backward

Costumes / Make-up: costumes where very detailed i liked how killers had blood on them and how killies had blood where they had been "stabed or shot"

Summary: this place is awsome it is worth the money to go i came out screaming when the chainsaw guy ran after me it was asome i also think that the managers they had face paint on to so they looked like gouls to it was sooo cool

Visibility/Location: Use mapquest and head towards the barricades... can't miss it. However, this is not mentioned online that I saw, but it cost me 3 dollars to park. There was no parking near the building, and some guy drinking a beer in front of his house was charing people 3 dollars to park near the event.

Wait Entertainment: There was one monitor set up that had a camera from somewhere inside the house. However, a staff member stood in front of the tv monitor, blocking anyone's view, while he chatted to someone else. I heard screams come from the TV now and then.

Length of Event: 7 minutes.

Actor Performance: The actors had a very low energy level. Maybe it is because there were a lot of chldren working there (either that or incredibly short people). The children actors sometimes seemed more scared of my group then we were of them. Also, the grand finale chainsaw guys just started their chainsaws up, and didn't even more around. Just looked at you when you went by from their corner in the room. Would have been cooler if they pretended to come get you, or jump out or something...
Overall, there weren't enough actors in this haunt. I went thru a lot of rooms where no one was working.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Decent in this area. Didn't run into another group. However, I was one of the first groups in so maybe that's why.

Appropriate Ages: ALL. I saw lots of grade schoolers in line. Some kids had to be no older than 5 or 6.

Props / Special FX: Well, there was a spot you crawled thru a tunnel. that was cool. But, no spx or cool animetronics. There were some decent stationary props. However, the environment was not constructed very well. Some parts looked to be a little thrown together.

Costumes / Make-up: Rubber masks and even a Freddy. nothing too unique or thrilling.

Summary: I liked the price for this one a lot. I also liked that there was no guides. Other than that, the bang for the buck was low (even though it was 7.50 to get in). I wished the attraction was longer, maybe a longer maze section? The maze part lasted about 10 feet. This haunted house was definately geared for families, not people looking to run out screaming. It was more like a museum of stationary props, than a haunted house. Get some more actors!

Length of Event: 15 - 25 minutes depending on how fast you run.

Actor Performance: For Jr. High and High School Kids they did ok. Several times we caught them out of charater which was a big disappointment.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: We didn't feel rushed but we did bump into the group ahead of us on 2 occasions.

Appropriate Ages: 8 - 15 year olds.

I am going to start asking if haunts change their designs or not. If they don't, I am not going to go from now on. I found it pretty good last year, but I didn't pay to see it twice last year, why would I pay to see it again this year if it was the same!

Costumes / Make-up: Nothing note worthy exept the guy that reads the rules. He was funny! Highlight of the haunt.

Each year the props are better and more elaborate. The waiting line is outside and entertainment consists of wandering monsters. You'll want to put on the long underwear, you'll be standing outside for over an hour. The house was very well done. It is dark and creepy, props and characters are well done, atmosphere is great. Length of Event: It was about 15 minutes long

Actor Performance: Some of the actors got really into...which I loved. But some of them just kinda popped out and then they were gone...it would have been better if they would have followed up on that.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: The actors helped with keeping us away from the group ahead of us. But unfortunately that didn't prevent us from running into them time after time. And the group behind us ran into us a few times as well. They were sending people through too quickly, especially since there was no line outside.

Actor Performance: We got there on opening night and there seemed to be a lot of kid actors. I was 4th in our group and I didn't see too many. They scared the first ones in the group most of the time. The Michael Myers guy did a really good job. I turned the corner and ran into something because the person in front of me was dragging me around a corner and when I turned back, he got me pretty good.

Costumes / Make-up: AWESOME!!!

Summary: Great! Very Scary! Worth the drive to a small town in Central Illinois! Although I would see about moving more air throughout the house if you could. Especially when people are backed up.

Visibility/Location: location was very good and easy to get to. I myself was coming from Pana and had NO problems what so ever. As soon as we turned down the street, you saw the light and heard the people. You knew exactly where it was

Wait Entertainment: We went on day 2 and there were not even but 12 people in line.

Length of Event: since we had the "r.i.p" tickets, I'd say 7 min.

Actor Performance: very good and scary! Very convincing! Loved the clown!!!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: There was no problem with this at all! It was perfect!!

Appropriate Ages: 10 and up. And for those who have smaller children, NO...there is crawling involved.

Props / Special FX: Everything was just right, except....at one part you had to crawl up and ramp and over what I belive to be plexi-glass. They should of had something underneath it-like glowing.

Costumes / Make-up: all was perfect. the best I've seen so far!

Summary: This was a chillin' haunting house. I've been to quite a few and this was good! Loved how it was so pitch black and you had to feel your way around...even when the walls were getting smaller. At 1 point you needed to crawl up and ramp, over glass and down the ramp: completely pitch black. Really kool! and at the end, you need to crawl thru a min-van with Texas chainsaw guy waiting there.

Visibility/Location: The location was very hard to find. There were no signs to tell me were to go. I had to stop at subway and ask for directions.

Wait Entertainment: There were a mix of critters outside, but we didn't wait due to no line being present.

Length of Event: It lasted a good 25 - 30 minutes. In my opinion what a good haunt should be.

Actor Performance: The actors were mostly rough around the edges. They jumped out and did a roar but that was about it. I thought the guy that explained the rules was the best "spook".

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: No one came up on us and we didn't get to anyone. I didn't know if this was by design or if it was because there was no one there when we walked up.

Appropriate Ages: I would say that 10 - 11 depending upon maturity would be an appropriate age

Props / Special FX: There was little makeup and I think there were a couple of fog machines. What made this haunt was the PROPS! They had mad props. Tons of stuff. They looked really cool.

Costumes / Make-up: The makeup had something to be desired and the masks looked like they had come from a spencers gifts. Higher quality but unoriginial.

Summary: Overall it was an excellent haunt. I really liked the props they had. They also had some good prop scares! There was a complete VAN inside the haunt. I don't know how they got it in there, but it was VERY cool.

Visibility/Location: Always the same great place! easy to find.

Wait Entertainment: No wait. We were there opening night. I felt a little sorry for the scaracters outside having to deal with the nieghborhood young kids in their faces. It was hard to do their crowd patrolling with these kids constantly following them & getting in the way. But they handled it very well. I personally would have flipped & sent them away.

Length of Event: 10 minutes or so. I am not sure, I get lost in time looking at the awesomeness.

Actor Performance: As always, great. These guys are very into what they do! And it shows in the great performance every year!

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: good pace. The crawling slows you down a little.

Appropriate Ages: 13 & up

Props / Special FX: These guys are forever the masters at decor! I am always amazed at the detail in this haunt! Perfect! so realistic.I have to say we are a little green with envy.

Costumes / Make-up: Same with the costumage! Never a disappointment.

Summary: As haunters ourselves we are always inspired by Clinton's haunt. They are great at it! We always have to come see what awaits us here. And it never disappoints. The ending this year was the best so far! You know you are good when A fellow haunter will not go through the van to get out of the house and screams like a little girl! As always 4 bony thumbs up! See you next year.

Visibility/Location: If you do not know where the event is located its very hard to find, they dont really have any signs, but since I go every year I know exactly where they are loacated.

Wait Entertainment: Good. They had around 4 characters that where scaring the crowd, they also had music such as thriller, and ghostbusters playing, and a creepy voice that explained you where at Terror on Washington Street.

Length of Event: I would say around 15-20 Minutes.

Actor Performance: OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Everyone was in character and on cue. The creepy guy in the entry room was by far the creepiest actor I have seen this year. Also the nurse that pops out in the operating room scared the pee out of me.

Patron Flow Inside Attraction: Great. We did not catch up to the group in front of us, and no one caught up to us.

Appropriate Ages: I would say 12 and up. Some scenes were very intense.

Props / Special FX: AWESOME! Every room was decorated to the T! You really felt like you where in a reall place with every room. Also the pictures in the hallway that turned into corpses was amazing.

Costumes / Make-up: Great. Every one had costumes and makeup that coresponded to their rooms. Once again the guy in the entrance room was very creepy!

Summary: SUPERB!!! We go to this haunted house every year and I am never dissapointed, and this year was no exception. They really know how to scare the crap out of everyone. There props and rooms just get better and better. Keep up the good work!!

Review : Clinton once again puts on a great show!
There could be more entertainment while you wait in line. The line was pretty long, but the weather was good. Once inside you progress through different rooms. The wall of scream masks, Michael Myers was great for startle effect, Freddy... There is a crawl through area with see through floor, a shrinking room, Egyptian tomb, and of course, the now required chain saw at the end.
A very worthwhile haunt.

Anyone who didn't like this one must be half out of their wits already !! This one should definately be in the top 10 without a doubt !! The waiting line went very well, as you could watch people exiting and getting chased by 'THE CHAINSAW MAN' This one is excellent.

Review : I'll try to follow the order of this sites regular reviews so I don't forget anything. Wish me luck, this is my first attempt at doing anything like this...

I've been to many haunted houses, and Clinton's haunted house never ceases to amaze me. This year, they seem to have changed a bunch of rooms, because I didn't remember hardly any of it from last year. Most of what I did remember, didn't seem to be in the same order or location as the last couple of years. Looks like they spent many long hours sweating the details for each of their rooms. They even had a "Ring" movie room and as far as I know, this movie has only been out for a short period of time.

Cost: While $6 may seem like a lot to pay for a short period of utter terror and mayhem, I don't think anyone feels slighted by the time they leave the building. This year, they also had a couple of different ticket options which they didn't have in the past...

There was a $12 RIP ticket (That's the one I got) which lets you go to a super short line and the wait is only a couple of minutes rather than 2 hours like it is when you get there late like I did.

They also had a multi pass which saves you a couple of bucks if you want to go to the Clinton house as well as the Bloomington house whicj is only about 20 minutes away. I believe the cost of that ticket was also $12, but I don't remember exactly what they called it.

Length: By my calculations, it took us a little over 18 minutes to go through the whole haunted house. While the building didn't look very big when I first saw it a few years ago, I soon found out that it was much larger than I imagined. There are lots of different rooms and hallways to scare and confuse you, and a pitch black maze which made me feels like I was walking in circles for hours.

Scare Factor: The scares were quite good this year. Scares were coming from places I didn't expect them too, and there were sometimes multiple scares in the same room. If I had to place it into a category like hauntedillinois.com does, I'd have to say it would rate as a "high" in my book.

Location/Visability: Simce I've been to this housted house before, I knew exactly where I was going once I hit town. I think if this had been my first visit, I may have had a bit of trouble fing it though. I don't recall seeing any signs telling me which was to go, but I do remember that the town folk were very friendly and helpful when I had to ask for directions on my first visit. Small town living has it's strong points I guess. :-)

Outside appearence: I think somebody painted the building this year. It was a dark green color rather than that old nasty color that I remembered from last year. They also had more decorations in front than in previous years. There were scary clowns, glowing skulls, and decayed skeletons clearly visable under the blackilighting around the ticket booth and under the front awning.

Wait Entertainment: I was rather disappointed to find out that there was no crowd interaction this year. I talked to a couple of the workers that I've met over the years, and they told me that due to the rain, the activities that were planned for the night were cancelled for safety reasons as well as to protect the costumes of the performers. He told me that on the previous evening (just my luck that I went on a rainy night) a radio station from a nearby town was doing a live remote from the house. They also had a dance troop performing in the street while the radio station (WBNQ I think he said) provided the introductions and music for them to dance to. As for crowd workers, I did see the chainsaw guy chasing a few people in the parking lot, but again, due to the weather, I guess the usual characters were not out in the crowd.

Scene detail: Most of the scenes were pretty detailed. I wish I could have spent more time in some of the rooms just to check out how everything was put together, but with another screaming group closing in on me every time I stopped or slowed down too much, it was best just to keep moving. Some of the scenes that I can remember being detailed nicely were:
* A Scary Campsite
* A Library where nothing scary actually happened but it
looked kinda creepy
* An Old woman rocking on her porch
* A nasty bathroom (disgusting, but also scary!)
* "The Ring" room (forbidden video was playing, lots of
other movie related detail as well!)

Music/Sound Effects: Sound was good through most of the house. I don't actually remember any place where there wasn't some kind of music or sound playing to add to the experience. The only music I recognized was the "Halloween" theme, but the rest of the music throughout the house seemed very well thought out and somehow seemed to "fit" the scenes.

Props/Animatronics: No professional animatronics (by choice I am told), but the actors do a good job of keeping things animated. You can assume that each time that you will be startled in the house, you will have one or more live actors to thank for it.

Actors: All of the actors seemed to really be having a good time playing their parts. They were very active when their jobs required them to be, and eerily still and creepy when required as well. Koodos to these people for adding a touch of realism to this spooky attraction.

Great work you guys!!! I'll be back next year...maybe even again this year :-)

Review : Great haunted house. The line is long, but they offer a "fast pass" type ticket for $12. In previous years we have waited over 2 hours to get in, but this year we paid extra and waited about 5 minutes. Well worth paying a little more!

The house is improving every year. you can really tell that they are putting the money they take in back into the show. Sets are well designed. Actors are well prepared. Groups are well spaced.

I was very impressed with this haunted house.
